15 Best Package Forwarding Services From US to Canada for 2023

Have you come across a US-only store that you love but can’t buy from? Or put items in your cart only to see the high shipping costs? That’s where package forwarding services come in.

With parcel forwarding, you can get packages delivered to a US address, then forwarded to you in Canada. This opens your options so that you can shop from more stores, take advantage of US-only sales, and save money on shipping fees and sales tax.

But how exactly does a package forwarding service work, and what are the best ones? This article covers the top 15 best US to Canada package forwarding services along with how it works, the pros, and the cons.

What is a Package Forwarding Service?

A package forwarding service is an international shipping service by a company that gives you a US address to send packages to. When you do online shopping at US-only or international stores, you give them the forwarding service address. The service collects the package, then ships it to you in Canada.

If you want to shop at a US-only store that does not offer shipping to Canada, you should use a US to Canada shipping service.

How Does Package Forwarding Work?

When you sign up for a US to Canada mail forwarding company, you’ll get a US address. Whenever you shop online, simply enter that US address when checking out.

Most package forwarders will send you an email notification that they have received your package and will send it to you when requested.

Some companies offer monthly plans, where you pay monthly to receive a certain number of packages each month. Others offer pay-per-use plans, where you pay a fee for each package forwarded.

Benefits of US To Canada Package Forwarding Services

With US to Canada package forwarding services, you can access US-only stores that do not ship internationally. You can take advantage of the lowered prices without worrying about your Canadian address being invalid.

Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon do not charge sales tax. Most US package forwarding companies are located in one of those states, allowing you to save 7-10% on your order, as you won’t be paying the sales tax.

Many US stores also charge a higher fee from Canadians than Americans. With a US address, you can save quite a bit of money. Although you’ll have to pay for the forwarding service plus shipping fees, it is often cheaper to use a package forwarding service.

Cons of US To Canada Package Forwarding Services

Although some package forwarding companies promise zero hidden fees, there often are. When you ship items from the US to Canada, you may incur fees like duties and taxes, brokerage fees, and US sales tax, depending on the state the forwarding service operates in.

Some US companies prohibit shipping to package forwarding services, and you may not know that until your package gets delivered. Some items like perfume and batteries are also considered “dangerous” and will not be shipped to you in Canada.

Shipping and storage fees can also be quite high, depending on the weight and size of your parcel.

Conclusion

Using a package forwarding service from the US to Canada is a great way to receive packages from US-only companies without worrying about high shipping fees or the possibility of your Canadian address being denied.

If you’re looking for a reliable way to get US packages forwarded to you, consider using one of the above US to Canada parcel forwarding services.

Hi, I’m looking to get a pellet smoker from Recteq but they only ship to us, so I have to use a freight forwarder. Although my item is large, comes on a wood pallet and weighs around 170lbs.

    Who would you recommend?

    Thanks

@Nelson: AmForward and many of the others on this list work well. You may want to confirm if there are size/weight restrictions.
