As a senior in Ontario, you can access various seniors-exclusive discounts from retailers, grocery stores, fast food chains, and drugstores. 

Enjoying these discounts will pretty much cost you nothing in return, so if you’re already planning to purchase items from these establishments, you might as well save yourself anywhere from 10% to 20% off! 

In this article, I compiled the updated list of all stores that offer senior discounts in Ontario. Enjoy more by paying less! 

Grocery Stores Offering Discounts for Ontario Seniors

Bulk Barn

Every Wednesday, seniors aged 65 years old and older can receive 15% off their Bulk Barn purchases. Applicable for regular-priced products only, but may be used in conjunction with coupons. 

M&M Food Market

Seniors who are over 60 years old can enjoy a 10% discount from M&M Food Market every Tuesday. This also applies to online purchases. 

Herb & Spice Shop

Ottawa’s go-to source of natural food also offers discounts to seniors who are at least 65 years old. When they purchase from the Herb & Spice Shop on a Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday, they can get 10% off their purchases. Just prepare to show your valid ID.

Retail Stores With Senior Discounts in Ontario

Michaels

Wondering what stores offer senior discounts at age 55? Michaels is one of them, offering 10% discounts for seniors over 55 in Canada every day. This deal is limited to only one senior discount daily. 

Pet Valu

Pet Valu holds Seniors’ Day every last Thursday of the month. During this day, the retailer’s Rewards/VIP Plus members enjoy 10% off the regular-priced merchandise.

Giant Tiger

The ​​Giant Tiger seniors discount is available every first Monday of the month. Seniors who are at least 60 years old can enjoy 10% off their in-store purchases. 

Global Pet Foods

At Global Pet Foods, seniors who are 60+ can enjoy 15% off their purchases every last Tuesday of the month. Certain restrictions apply, including the quantity of pet food that can be purchased on this day. 

The Bay 

The Bay holds a Timeless Style Tuesday discount every week, which aims to offer exclusive discounts for seniors over 55 in Canada. Seniors must be HBC Rewards members to enjoy the discounts from this offer. 

Good Will 

For seniors who wanna thrift, Good Will is one of the best places to visit. It offers a 25% discount every second Monday of the month for seniors who are 55 years old and older. Note, however, that this discount cannot be combined with other promotions.

Drugstores With Senior Discounts in Ontario

Shoppers Drug Mart

Shoppers Drug Mart holds “Seniors’ Day” every Thursday for seniors who are at least 65 years old. This promotion lets seniors enjoy 20% off their regular-priced merchandise. Customers must have a PC Optimum card to be eligible for this discount.

Rexall Pharma Plus 

Rexall Pharma Plus offers a 20% discount for seniors who are 55 years old and older every Tuesday of the week. Members of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP), however, can enjoy a 20% discount every day. 

Lawtons Drugs 

Lawtons Drugs holds 55+ Appreciation Day on most Wednesdays. On this day, customers who are 55 years old and older can receive 20% off many products after scanning their Scene+ card upon purchase. 

Fast Food Stores That Offer Senior Discounts in Ontario

Denny’s

For seniors who are 55 years old and older, Denny’s offers a 15% discount every Thursday between 2PM and 10PM. This discount is only applicable to regular menu items, excluding the kids’ menu and alcohol. 

IHOP

IHOP doesn’t exactly offer a discount specifically on regular menu items for seniors. However, it does have a 55+ menu dedicated to offering discounted versions of its best-selling meals to seniors who are 55 years old and older. 

Smitty’s

Smitty’s holds a “Senior’s First Tuesday” event during the first Tuesday of the month for its MySmitty’s Rewards members. Seniors won’t exactly get a “discount” on this day, but they can enjoy a special treat and earn double points.
