How to Claim Seniors Discounts at Restaurants in Canada

To claim discounts for the elderly in restaurants, follow these tips:

  • Check your eligibility. Restaurants in Canada require seniors to be of a certain age to qualify for discounts, with some offering to those over 50 and others to those over 65. It’s important to check the requirements to determine your eligibility.
  • Always bring a valid ID. At most restaurants offering discounts, you will often need to present identification to prove your age. Thus, it is advantageous to bring your proof of identity to earn discounts.
  • Verify the availability of senior discounts. Senior discounts are not always advertised. Restaurant staff may also be trained to wait till the customer asks about senior discounts rather than offer them. Make sure to ask the staff or manager first.
  • Sign up for rewards programs. Some restaurants require you to register for their rewards program to enjoy senior discounts. Being a member also provides more perks and offers more discounts.
