Rogers Connections Mastercard Benefits

The benefits of this card centre on cash back rewards on every purchase and travel perks if you are a Rogers customer.

Earn Cash Back Rewards

Cardholders earn 2% cash back on U.S. dollar purchases and 1% cash back on purchases in other currencies.

An unlimited 1% cash back rate for Canadian dollar purchases makes this credit card a competitive cash back card, especially if you qualify for the no-annual-fee feature.

New cardholders get a 10% welcome cash back bonus on up to $1,000 spent in the first 3 months, equivalent to a $100 value.

30% Redemption Bonus

You get more value out of cash back earned using this card when you apply it towards a Rogers purchase.

At 30% more, a $10 redemption value will get you $13 in purchases.

Rogers purchases eligible for the 30% bonus include new phones, accessories, and bill payments.

You can easily redeem cash back in the Rogers Bank app.

Free Roam Like Home Days

The Roam Like Home feature is an add-on to Rogers phone plans that make it easy to talk, text, and use data in 185 destinations worldwide at a low daily fee.

This service normally costs $12/day when roaming in the U.S. and $15/day elsewhere.

When you connect the Rogers Connections Mastercard to your Rogers wireless account, you get 5 free Roam Like Home days each year. This is valued at up to $75 (i.e. $15 x 5 days).

Annual Fee Rebate

The Rogers Connections Mastercard has a $29 annual fee. This fee is waived for the first year.

If you pay your Rogers bill monthly using the Rogers Connections Mastercard, your annual fee is rebated in subsequent years. Additional cards are also free.

Downsides of the Rogers Connections Mastercard

To get the most from this card, you must be a Rogers customer. Otherwise, the no-fee Rogers World Elite Mastercard or Fido Mastercard may be better options.

If you want a credit card that has no annual fees and pays unlimited cash back of up to 2%, the Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card is an enticing option.

Another downside of this card is its lack of insurance coverage, including standard ones like purchase protection and extended warranty.

Lastly, it is the only Rogers credit card with an annual fee.

Just one correction to that comparison table. The annual fee is waived for Rogers customers if you pay your Rogers bills with that credit card. So technically there’s no annual fee unless you’re not a customer.
