Newcomers to Canada can now easily apply for a credit card with up to $15,000 in credit, even without a previous credit history. This offer is made possible via Scotiabank’s partnership with Nova Credit2, a service that allows you to access your credit history from your home country.
Instead of waiting for several years to increase your credit limit or starting a new credit card application, Scotiabank can increase your credit limit up to an average of twice the regular limit increase3, if eligible.
You can apply for a credit limit increase if:
+ You’re a permanent resident, foreign worker, temporary worker, or international student
+ You’re from Australia, Austria, Dominican Republic, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Africa or Ukraine
+ You’ve been in Canada for less than two years
+ You already have a Scotiabank credit card
