Mistplay App Overview

Founded in Oct 2015 by Henri-Charles Machalani, Mistplay is a loyalty program built for mobile gamers. The Mistplay app (Android only) offers a platform for users to earn rewards while playing video games.

The Mistplay app isn’t a game in itself but lists a myriad of games from developers worldwide for its users to try out, test, review, and get paid for.

The good thing is that the app is free to download and use, so you won’t incur any fees or expenses from downloading to redeeming your Mistplay rewards.

The only cost is the time you dedicate to playing games in the app. You’ll earn points that can later be redeemed for prizes. The more you play, the more you earn.

The Mistplay app is only available for Android users and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. The Mistplay iOS app is yet to be launched.

How Mistplay Works

So how does Mistplay work, and where will they get the money to pay you?

Well, the Mistplay app brings together game developers and game players. Developers seeking to test or showcase their new games pay Mistplay in exchange for a platform to feature their games.

In turn, Mistplay pays its users to play and test out the games featured on the platform. You’ll act as a game tester for Mistplay partners and get a small reward for your time.

As you play, the developers gain useful insight, like spotting any glitches, gauging how difficult or easy the different levels are to new players, and more.

After completing a game or reaching a certain level, you may also be asked to rate the game or give feedback, which is relayed to the game developers.

All that data and information helps the game developers make changes and improvements to make games that deliver the best experience possible. Thus, their gaming products can beat the competition.

It’s a win-win for Mistplay, the players, and the developers. Everyone benefits!

How to Join Mistplay

First, the Mistplay app is free to use, but it’s only available to Android users in some countries (Canada and the U.S.).

You need to be at least 13 years old to sign up. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to sign up for Mistplay:

Install the app

Before you sign up, you’ll need to download and install the Mistplay app on your Android device via Google Play Store. Currently, the Mistplay iOS version isn’t available.

Adjust phone settings

You’ll have to change a few phone settings to enable Mistplay to run smoothly and access the information it needs to track your gaming activity, as follows:

  • Allow Mistplay to be displayed on top of other running apps
  • Disable your phone’s power-saving mode

Otherwise, you won’t be able to earn any points or redeem your points for rewards.

Create your account

Open the Mistplay app and create an account. You can do so from scratch by entering your email, gender, and date of birth or through your Facebook or Gmail account.

Play and earn

After your account is set up, you’ll be given a list of games available on Mistplay. The type of games available to you may differ based on your country, region, or location. Simply play and earn.

Units, PXPs and GXPs Explained

Different Mistplay terms are used to represent your reward points, your experience with specific Mistplay games, and your overall rank within the Mistplay app.

It helps to understand what Units, PXPs, and GXPs stand for so that you won’t get confused when the time comes to redeem your reward points.

Units

Units are the reward points you’ll be earning when actively playing games on the Mistplay app. You may also earn units when you leave a review, complete specific levels, or give your feedback.

As you play, your units will accumulate, and they will be displayed for you to see how you’re progressing. Once you amass enough units, you’ll be able to exchange them for real prizes, like gift cards.

Game Experience Points (GXPs)

The longer you play a specific game, the more experienced you’re likely to become in playing it. Game experience points indicate your level of experience in a particular game depending on how long you’ve played that specific game.

Therefore, you’ll earn more GXPs if you spend more time playing a certain game. You can’t redeem your GXPs directly, but they help increase the number of units you earn while playing.

Player Experience Points (PXPs)

Player experience points indicate your overall experience within the Mistplay app. Unlike GXPs which show your experience within a specific game, PXPs show the current status and rank of your Mistplay account.

Your PXPs increase as you reach new GXP levels, and you will earn bonus points and privileges anytime you level up. For instance, you’ll earn more GXPs per minute and have more flexibility with your app’s avatar as your PXPs increase.

Your PXP will be displayed on the top left-hand corner of your dashboard.

How to Earn Rewards on Mistplay

You’ll earn rewards by actively playing different games on the Mistplay app. There are different game categories, including simulation, word, board, war, strategy, bingo, games, and more.

To earn rewards, start by choosing the game category and then select a specific game to start playing. Each game has a minimum time requirement that you must play to earn points.

That’s usually 2-5 minutes, and you may earn about 20 points. You’ll be notified the minimum time has elapsed.

You can switch to a different game immediately, though you’ll earn more GXP and PXP points if you play a certain game long enough.

Other ways to earn points on Mistplay include:

  • Reviews and feedback: Some games may require you to submit a review or give your feedback. Once you fulfill the requirements and accomplish the task, you’ll gain more points.
  • Mistplay Referral Program: You can earn bonus points if you refer a friend to download the Mistplay app using your Mistplay code or referral link.
  • Contests: New contests are launched each week where you may win a grand prize of $400.

How to Redeem Mistplay Units

After accumulating enough Mistplay Units, you can redeem them for in-app credits and gift cards from Mistplay partners.

The value of your Mistplay Units ranges from a third to an eighth of a cent depending on the amount of gift card you redeem for. For instance, 1,800 Units equate to a $5 gift card, while 3000 Units translate to a $10 gift card.

Stores and retailers for which you can get a gift card include:

  • Amazon
  • eBay
  • GameStop
  • Google Play
  • iTunes
  • Nintendo
  • PlayStation
  • Starbucks
  • Xbox

Sadly, Mistplay Units can’t be redeemed for a cash check or via PayPal, but you can redeem them for Visa Cards, Fortnite V-Bucks, and Steam Credits.

Before redeeming your Units for whatever prizes, make sure that your email and currency settings are correct. That’s because you won’t be able to cancel or make changes after your order has been placed.

If everything is correct, you can expect to receive your eGift card code in your email within 48 hours after redemption.

How Much You Can Make with Mistplay

How much you earn with Mistplay comes down to two factors, namely:

  • The time you spend playing games: The more time and effort you dedicate to actively playing games on the platform, the more GXP points you’ll rack up and earn more Units that you can redeem for prizes.
  • Your experience within Mistplay: As you level up in various games, you’ll earn more PXP points, which means more GXP points per minute. That indirectly increases your Units earning potential.

That said, Mistplay isn’t a get-rich-quick-scheme, so don’t expect to make a fortune playing games on the app. Practically, you can expect to make about $1-$1.5 per hour, or less, depending on your GXPs, and PXPs.

Mistplay Hacks

There are a few Mistplay hacks that can help you earn more units, including:

  • Join contests and earn up to 10,000 points
  • Refer friends to earn bonus points
  • Play for longer to accumulate more GXPs
  • Level up fast to raise your PXPs
  • Prioritize high-rewarding games to maximize Units
  • Try a seven-day streak to earn weekly bonuses
  • Unlock badges to earn extra units

  • Some European Countries

Again, the Mistplay iOS version is yet to be released, so the app is only available for Android users, and you have to be at least 13+ to sign up.
