What is BYJU’s Canada?

Byju’s is a popular educational technology company founded in 2011 in India by Byju Raveendran and Divya Gokulnath.

It has since expanded operations to several English-speaking countries, including Canada.

The company’s FutureSchool platform offers an interactive online learning platform for kids in various courses, including coding, math, and music.

More than 1 million students have been certified by BYJU’s FutureSchool.

How Does BYJU’s Work?

BYJU’s offers paid and free options.

For example, you can book a free trial and access restricted content for a few days.

For ongoing classes and full access to its learning platform, a paid plan is required.

Using coding as an example, you can sign up for 8-144 classes, and the curriculum is based on your child’s grade (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Professional, and Applied Tech).

For the Math curriculum, you can enroll your child in Grade 1-8 classes.

And for guitar and piano lessons, the levels are classified as discovery, novice, and mastery levels.

You can reach a BYJU’s counsellor to discuss your options.

BYJU’s Fees

The fees on this platform vary based on the course your child is registered for, how many classes they are taking, and whether you make the payment in full or monthly.

The fee per class for coding varies from $35 to $45. That said, you could also get steep discounts if your child attends a group class and by negotiating directly with the representative that sets up your account.

The listed prices for coding classes when paid in full for 8, 48, and 144 classes are:

  • Your friend registers for a Class after clicking on the link
  • You and your friend get up to $400 each in Amazon gift cards

How much you get depends on how many classes they sign up for:

  • 6-47 classes: $50 Amazon gift card
  • 48-79 classes: $200
  • 80+ classes: $400

There are no limits to how many friends you can invite.

BYJU’s Review

My review of Byju’s is positive, and we have had no issues with the coding classes my child has been taking.

While their posted prices can look daunting, you can get discounts by chatting with one of their reps.

For the coding classes, I negotiated the fee to under $20/class for 48 classes (Group Learning), which is a 50% discount on what’s posted on their website.
